Open Billing › AWS Billing in the portal to reconcile infrastructure cost
for your organization’s AWS account. This page is separate from both your
wallet balance and the inference request log:
An ECS task can therefore appear in AWS Billing and Financials without being
an inference Event Log row. AWS Billing links the provider bill to the wallet;
it does not create a second wallet ledger.
From a hold to a final charge
AI Reserve meters the AWS resources it can observe in near real time. Every
five minutes it places wallet holds for running Fargate task time and
load-balancer time. Holds keep long-running infrastructure from building a
completely unreserved bill while AWS prepares its report.
AWS later delivers a month-to-date CUR restatement. Each delivered line has:
- AWS provider cost — the amount AWS billed AI Reserve;
- AWS list amount — public on-demand pricing, or the public Spot market
amount where Spot applies;
- customer-policy amount — what your organization owes under the current
AWS pricing policy;
- hold matched — the part already reserved by real-time metering;
- booked — an additional charge or credit posted after CUR arrived; and
- outstanding — any difference still waiting for a wallet booking.
The page labels a line settled when its customer amount is fully covered
by matched holds and bookings. A credit means CUR came in below an earlier
hold or restatement. Deferred means the line is still waiting for a
booking. Refused means the wallet lacked funds; the amount remains visible
and retries after funds arrive. Generic booking failures are shown without
exposing internal error details.
AWS can restate a line more than once. The opaque CUR reference and version shown in the portal are safe values to
send support; they are not AWS credentials or wallet transaction ids.
Day and month status
AWS Billing closes on UTC days:
- Open — CUR can still add or restate lines, or a wallet difference remains
outstanding.
- Settled — the day ended at least 48 hours ago and every delivered line is
fully booked.
- Final — AWS assigned invoice evidence and the scheduled month-close pass
completed.
A settled amount is no longer waiting on known lines, but it can remain
non-final until AWS invoices the month. The delivery-freshness indicator shows
when the latest CUR delivery arrived. A delayed indicator means the page may
understate very recent usage; it does not mean resources stopped running.
Amounts AI Reserve does not charge
Absorbed cost is provider cost for platform plumbing in the tenant account,
such as AWS Config and CloudTrail. AI Reserve records it for reconciliation but
does not charge it to your wallet. Provider credits, refunds, tax, and fee rows
appear as AWS adjustments and are not automatically posted as customer
wallet charges.
Load-balancer fixed-hour delta
The real-time load-balancer hold uses measured elapsed time, including the
last partial hour. Implementing a separate fixed-hour minimum in the hold lane
is deliberately deferred: CUR remains authoritative and applies any final
provider-policy difference during settlement. This avoids charging the same
fixed-hour delta once in a provisional hold and again in AWS’s final line.
